EUIPO ETMD EP

In line with its strategic plan 2016-2020, the EUIPO has established the EUIPO Trade Mark and Design Education Programme (ETMD EP) whose objective is to increase the knowledge of the legal framework of European Union trademarks and Community designs.

In this connection the preparation of a new ETMD Education Programme intended for paralegals was initiated, and in EPIPA we were honoured and excited to be asked to nominate, from among our members, a representative to the Advisory Committee and an Examination Board, respectively.

EPIPA is represented by Stine Nørgaard Axelsen from our Danish member association DAIPA (serves on the Examination Board) and Camilla Udd from the Finnish Association of Intellectual Property Administrators (serves on the Advisory Committee).

The 1st edition of the ETMD EP for paralegals was announced on 17 May 2021, and all 65 available seats were fully booked within a week of opening.

The course consists of 5-6 modules with exams at the end of each module. First module started on 20 September 2021 and the course will end in the early Spring of 2022.
