MyEPO
Streamlining your digital interactions with the EPO
On behalf of the MyEPO services team, Kieran Donnelly from the EPO has shared the following information with us:
As we ease into 2026, this is an opportunity to take stock of the key features introduced to MyEPO services over the past year. In line with its Strategic Plan 2028, the European Patent Office (EPO) has continued to modernise its online services to support end-to-end digital processes, simplify the daily work of IP administrators and attorneys, and further improve the accessibility and efficiency of the patent granting process.
What is MyEPO?
The suite of MyEPO services is designed to securely streamline your daily EPO business:
- MyEPO (formerly MyEPO Portfolio) is your comprehensive hub for interacting with the EPO during proceedings. Today, MyEPO is used by around 35 000 applicants, representatives and their staff for their interactions with the EPO.
Within MyEPO, you can receive communications from the EPO in your mailbox and access your digital files, as well as submit requests and replies regarding your applications. You can also interact with examiners during live online consultation. - Online Filing 2.0 (OLF 2.0) is the standard tool for filing patent applications as of January 2026, following the discontinuation of the desktop-based eOLF software on 31 December 2025.
- Central Fee Payment provides all available options for paying fees and claiming refunds.

Following several major releases, MyEPO services now offers improved functionalities aimed at further increasing efficiency and self-service:
Easy access to everything you need

- Improved access to information: Bibliographic data for EPC and PCT applications are now displayed in a dedicated panel with editing rights for authorised users.
- Multimedia citations: Users can now view and download non-patent literature (NPL), including multimedia citations such as audio or video clips.

More self-service, enabling more collaboration
- Association management: Company administrators can now create new associations, update their details, and manage members in MyEPO.
- Legal practitioners: Since October 2025, legal practitioners can join or form associations and request their entry on the register via their MyEPO profile.
- Shared area: This collaborative space enables real-time interaction with examiners during live consultations, making the examination process more efficient.
- Bulk maintenance: New bulk actions enable administrators to manage their colleagues’ access rights and all portfolio permissions across multiple applications simultaneously.
New submission options
- Colour filings: Since October 2025, the EPO accepts colour and greyscale drawings for European patent applications and subsequent electronic filings, without converting these drawings to black and white.
- Streamlined requests: Users can easily manage changes to bibliographic data, the transfer of rights, withdrawals of representation, and requests for certified copies.
Enhanced security and technical Integration
- Stronger 2FA sign-in options: Enhanced security methods are now available, including Windows Hello, Face ID, Touch ID, and physical security keys like YubiKey.
- MyEPO developer portal: To help your IT experts link MyEPO with your internal IP management systems, a new platform provides APIs, technical specifications, and sandboxes.
